In June, three Gladstone Gymnastics had the adventure of a lifetime to compete in Europe at the International Acro World Cup, providing them the opportunity to represent their country and gain international competition experience.

It was definitely a highlight to make the World Cup junior final in Germany and compete with the world’s best athletes. It was also amazing to meet and make new friends from different countries, and of course, the experience of getting to compete at the international level against some of the best acrobatic gymnasts in the world.
The team has been competing in the 11 to 16 international division; next year, they will be moving up to the 12 to 18 age group. This will be a big jump in skills required. To prepare, they will be competing as level 8s at the National Clubs Carnival down the Gold Coast in September. The trio is aiming for another selection in the Australian team as a 12-18 trio for a World Cup in 2026/2027
Long term, the team is hopeful that Acrobatic Gymnastics gets accepted into the 2032 Olympics to potentially compete in the Olympic Games. The Gladstone and District Sport Foundation Trust is
