In April, Bronte Ellis was selected to take part in the Thailand Junior Volleyball Championships as part of Volleyball Australia’s Thailand Development Tour under their National Performance Program. Thailand’s National Sport is volleyball. The idea of this tour was to expose athletes with the potential to play in the 2032 Olympics to an international competition. Even winning one set would be an achievement.
The Australian Team lost their first game 3-0 but managed to win a set in the second competition game losing 3-1.
It was absolutely a highlight for Bronte to play her first ever international games, consistently serving in the first competition match and good hitting in the second game. Bronte is inspired by Yuji Nishida who is the starting opposite for Japan National Team and is left handed like like herself.
