Archie Tennant (Athletics)

Archie recently travelled to Adelaide, South Australia to compete in the Australian All Schools Athletics. Archie was proud of the achievements at the event with the following results:

  • Silver in the 4 x 100m relay.
  • 100m Sprint heats

Unfortunately, during his individual race Archie tore his hamstring.  This meant that he had to withdraw from his other events, Long Jump, 200m and the 200m mixed relay. Archie was gutted about this, but demonstrated his character and commitment by staying at the stadium and supported his friends and team mates in their events.  Despite coming away injured Archie said it has been a highlight of his Athletics career to run in front of such a big crowd and receive the Silver Medal.

Archie states his mentor / physio Josh has been a real influence in his ability. Apart from treating any injuries I have had, he has helped me with the mental side of being prepared to compete.

Archie is looking forward to compete at the Little Athletics Championships next year and the Australian Athletics Championships where he has qualified for Long Jump, 100m and 200m events.

Well done Archie.  It has been great to see your success at a state level progress and result in a National Medal.  We wish you all the best in your recovery and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you in Athletics.
