In March 2026, local skater Cora Wilson took on the World at the Skate Boarding Championships at the Sao Paulo in Brazil.
In the world class competition Cora qualified in 5th place, and got knocked out in the quarter finals stage. Whilst this may have been a tough out Cora was the highest place of all the Australian Female street skateboarders.
It was highlight to be at the same event as some of the best skateboarders in the world. In what is an individual sport is was great to be a part of a the Australian team and cheer on my teammates.
Cora looks towards her next competition in Rome during June, which the next Olympic qualifying event, where she hopes to achieve a higher placing.
The Gladstone and District Sports Foundation Trust is proud to see Cora competing on an international stage and we hope to see her as a future Olympian.
